Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations of the PVC Decorative Ceiling Panel unit, ensuring that production targets are achieved efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. The role involves close supervision of extrusion, pulverizing, compounding, mixing, and cutting processes, as well as coordination between production, maintenance, and quality control teams.

Key Responsibilities / KRAs

1. Production Operations

• Oversee day-to-day production activities including extrusion line operations, material flow, and output targets.
• Ensure optimal utilization of extrusion machines, pulverisers, mixers, and related production facilities.
• Monitor machine performance and process parameters to ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Supervise start-up, running, and shutdown of production lines ensuring minimal downtime.
• Plan and execute die changes, size changes, and tool setups as per production schedule.

2. Process & Quality Control

• Ensure all PVC panels and profiles are produced as per quality standards and specifications.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve non-conformities.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for process and product quality deviations.
• Record process data, production outputs, and downtime causes accurately in logbooks and reports.

3. Team & Shift Management

• Supervise line operators, helpers, and other shop floor personnel during shifts.
• Allocate manpower and assign responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Ensure shift handovers are properly documented with relevant production and machine information.
• Maintain discipline, safety, and cleanliness on the shop floor at all times.

4. Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency

• Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to carry out preventive maintenance activities.
• Report any machine breakdowns or malfunctions immediately to minimize production losses.
• Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and storage of dies, sizers, and production tools.
• Keep records of daily machine running reports (MRR) and breakdown logs.

5. Material Handling & Reporting

• Supervise the handling of raw materials, compounds, reprocessed scrap, and finished goods.
• Ensure accurate weighing and recording of raw material consumption, production output, and scrap generation.
• Coordinate with the mixing operator for effective utilization of reprocessed material.
• Report deviations in Bill of Materials (BOM) and consumption trends to the Production Manager.
• Ensure timely completion and submission of daily production and shift reports.

6. Safety, Housekeeping & Compliance

• Enforce adherence to shop floor safety guidelines and use of PPEs.
• Promote a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Conduct periodic safety checks and ensure compliance with company policies and ISO/HSE requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Sound knowledge of PVC extrusion process and related machinery (extruders, pulverizers, compounding, mixing, cutting units).
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality control, and process optimization.
• Proficiency in reporting, documentation, and ERP-based production tracking.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination across teams.

Qualification & Experience

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Polymer / Production Engineering.
• Experience: 3–6 years in PVC profile or ceiling panel extrusion production.
• Preferred Background: Experience with extrusion machinery setup, tool/die changeover, and process control in a manufacturing environment.
