Role Description

The Assistant Manager, Accounts, will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Accounts in overseeing financial and accounting operations. This role will involve managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance, facilitating audits, and providing financial insights. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, tax expertise, and analytical capabilities to contribute to the organization's financial health.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Assist in reviewing financial transactions, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditure reporting.
  • Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Audit & Tax Compliance:

  • Assist in conducting internal audits to ensure accuracy and financial data integrity.
  • Support in statutory and internal audits, ensuring timely closure and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting, tax, and financial laws, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
  • Ensure timely payment of taxes and submission of statutory returns.

Financial Planning & Controls:

  • Provide financial insights for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Assist in the implementation of financial controls and procedures to minimize risk.
  • Contribute to the automation and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
  • Support in preparing financial reports for investors, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

Team Coordination & Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial and operational objectives.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
  • Assist in mentoring and training junior accountants to enhance their financial expertise.

Requirements

  • CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax), and financial regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally, SAP, or similar.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
