Job Description

Background: Vendor will migrate data from Teradata database to BigQuery. Convert existing jobs (BTEX, Informatica) to GCP data flow jobs. The DE will help with:

Validate to make sure everything is okay

New Development - new initiatives that are coming in will be develop in Cerebro GCP platform

Strong experience in GCP platform with BQ and all the data flow services

Core Skills

Proficient in SQL, Python, PySpark, and Spark SQL for data manipulation and transformation.

Strong understanding of data modeling, normalization, and schema design

Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data

Ability to design and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts

Knowledge of batch and stream data processing architectures

GCP-Specific Tools & Services

BigQuery: Data warehouse design, optimization, and cost control

Dataproc: Running Spark/Hadoop jobs

Cloud Data Fusion: Design, Develop, and Deploy data pipelines

Cloud Storage: Data lake setup, object lifecycle management

Cloud Dataflow (Apache Beam): Scalable stream/batch data processing

Cloud Composer (Airflow): Workflow orchestration

DevOps & Infrastructure

Cloud IAM: Role-based access control and security best practices

VPC, Firewall, and KMS: Network configuration and data encryption

Terraform / Deployment Manager: Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

CI/CD Pipelines: Automating deployments and testing

Data Governance & BI

Implementing data quality, lineage, and cataloging (e.g., with Data Catalog)

Integrating with Looker, Data Studio, or other BI tools

Supporting compliance, auditing, and access transparency

Soft Skills & Best Practices

Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Experience in agile development environments

Familiar with cost optimization, monitoring, and SLOs/SLAs
