Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Process Improvement Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing or PC refurbishing sector. The ideal candidate will focus on reducing defects, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing corrective solutions to improve repair yield, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement and adopting best practices from the electronics & PC industry into our refurbishing operations.

Key Responsibilities

·      Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring defects in laptops and desktops at component and system level.

·      Design and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to reduce defect rates.

·      Drive yield improvement initiatives across motherboard, battery, display, and peripheral refurbishing processes.

·      Apply Value Added (VA) / Non-Value Added (NVA) analysis to identify inefficiencies and improve throughput.

·      Support automation initiatives for testing, QC, and repair workflows.

·      Collaborate with Quality, Production, and R&D teams to build robust repair SOPs and ensure adherence.

·      Benchmark against PC industry best practices and adapt them into refurbishing lines.

·      Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality.

·      Provide training and feedback to technicians to improve repair standards.

·      Track performance metrics (yield %, rework %, cost per unit) and report regularly to management.

Required Skills & Experience

·      3–4 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, PC/laptop refurbishing, or repair-focused engineering roles.

·      Strong knowledge of PC hardware architecture (motherboards, batteries, displays, input devices, adapters).

·      Hands-on experience with failure analysis, RCA tools (Ishikawa, 5-Whys, Pareto, FMEA).

·      Exposure to lean manufacturing / continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S).

·      Understanding of test & inspection processes (ICT, functional testing, burn-in, vibration/thermal checks).

·      Experience in yield improvement and cost optimization in a high-volume electronics environment.

·      Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

·      Must have worked in roles where industry best practices in PC/electronics were applied.

Preferred Qualifications

·      Degree/Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

·      Prior experience in refurbishing, EMS, ODM, or OEM setups for laptops/desktops.

·      Knowledge of automation tools, jig development, or test scripting.

·      Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
