Position: Senior Communications Associate/Specialist

Location: New Delhi, India

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented creative professional to join our Outreach team as a Senior Communications Associate/Specialist. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and overseeing the publication of our research materials. You will ensure that all deliverables, ranging from policy reports and handbooks to visually appealing brochures and coffee table books, adhere to our SOPs and maintain a high standard of clarity, creativity, and professionalism.

As the guardian of our publications, you will bring fresh ideas into our communications portfolio while aligning with our style guide. This role is ideal for someone passionate about publishing and storytelling, with a strong editorial background, design sensibilities, and a keen eye for detail. You will also have the opportunity to take on other exciting projects such as films, anthems, and visual storytelling campaigns, all aimed at driving climate action.

Key Responsibilities:

Publishing:

  • Oversee all stages of the publication process, ensuring adherence to existing SOPs, from concept to final delivery.
  • Manage the publishing workflow, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality control, and proper dissemination of materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (designers, editors, printers, data visualisers) to create polished, visually compelling publications.
  • Design and co-create infographics and other visual assets to simplify complex data for print and digital platforms.
  • Periodically review and update the organizations branding style guide, maintaining consistency and introducing new creative ideas.

Creative Projects:

  • Lead or support special creative projects (films, photography exhibitions, or campaigns) aimed at raising awareness and promoting climate action.

Process & Innovation:

  • Maintain and update publication archives, databases, and inventories with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Stay informed of contemporary communication trends, exploring new formats, platforms, and ideas for outreach.
  • Provide logistical and creative support for outreach activities during organizational events, ensuring smooth execution

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelors/Master's degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Communications, Publishing, Design, or related fields (preferred).

Experience: 4-10 years of experience in publishing, design production, corporate communications, or related fields.

  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Proven expertise in managing high-quality publications from concept to completion.
    • Strong creative skills in visual storytelling, layout design, and curating engaging communication materials.
    • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or Canva; knowledge of photography and video editing is an asset.
    • Exceptional communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
    • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to the highest standards in editorial and visual work.
    • A genuine passion for climate action and sustainability communications is highly desirable.
