Job Description:

We are seeking a
Senior Linux Administrator
with 6–7 years of hands-on experience in managing Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in administering RHEL-based clusters, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and performance optimization in a mission-critical 24x7 setup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain standalone and clustered servers on Linux (RHEL/CentOS).
  • Design, deploy, and maintain RHEL OS-based cluster systems.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems.
  • Manage system uptime and proactively maintain infrastructure for optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to servers, hardware, software, and network components.
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and enforce security standards (STIG, CIS).
  • Address and close VAPT (Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing) findings across OS, application, and database layers.
  • Perform OS hardening, firewall configuration, and SELinux/TCP wrappers management.
  • Implement and manage local and remote patching using YUM/DNF repositories.
  • Setup and maintain repositories, ensuring package updates without affecting data integrity.
  • Administer enterprise-grade databases: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
  • Perform daily maintenance of clustered environments (Pacemaker, Corosync, etc.).
  • Configure SNMP-based monitoring tools (OP Manager, Zabbix, Nagios, etc.).
  • Manage IP networking (IPv4/IPv6), DNS, DHCP, NFS, static routing, bonding, VLANs.
  • Support virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM, oVirt).
  • Handle storage configurations — SAN, LVM, multipathing, and file systems (ext4/xfs).
  • Assist in backup and recovery operations using VEEAM Backup or similar tools.
  • Implement log management and auditing (syslog, auditd, rsyslog).
  • Automate tasks using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible.
  • Drive incident resolution during production outages and participate in after-hours support.
  • Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with change management and ITIL processes.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — application, database, and network teams.

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Linux command line and scripting (Bash, Perl, Python).
  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring, logging, and performance tuning tools.
  • Excellent understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Remedy.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines) is a plus.
  • Exposure to container platforms (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift) is an added advantage.
