Job Title: Linux System Administrator (Mid-Level)

Role Overview

The Linux System Administrator will manage and maintain Linux-based servers and systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role requires hands-on experience with Linux administration, troubleshooting, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resources.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including patching and hardening.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Configure and maintain services such as Apache/Nginx, DNS, DHCP, and SSH.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery testing.
  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or tools like Ansible.
  • Collaborate with development and network teams for deployments and upgrades.
  • Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5–8 years in Linux system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS internals, file systems, and networking.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and basic automation.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix) and log management.
