The Salesforce Lead is a hybrid role which involves the operational leadership for the ongoing development of our Salesforce platforms, namely Sales Cloud, CPQ and Service Cloud, as well as the hands-on development/configuration/administration of said platforms along with integration middleware, Workato.

We see this role as integral to developing our CRM and customer support journey. You will be the key interface to internal stakeholders, collaborating to manage priorities and requirements alongside the day-to-day management of Salesforce resources. You will also support your line manager in establishing an agile development process and creating strategically aligned roadmaps for the Salesforce products.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the SME and key interface to internal business stakeholders for Salesforce, collaborating across sales/customer organisations to understand requirements.
  • Support line manager in establishing agile software development best practices and by devising product roadmaps for the Salesforce ecosystem in line with business objectives.
  • Manage Salesforce change delivery through sprints; managing demand, team capacity planning and prioritisation together with business stakeholders.
  • Lead our lean Salesforce team on a day-to-day basis with daily standups.
  • Report on progress, measure success and provide transparency to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure development integrity and quality is upheld through well- defined deployment, QA and documentation processes.
  • Oversee management of licence allocations, role-based access and permissions.
  • Manage and develop our data quality framework to improve our data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other internal technology teams including Information Security, Service Desk and Corporate Technology Operations to follow procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Identify opportunities, improvements and enhancements across the Salesforce platforms, and work to make these items a reality.
  • Manage pipeline data to ensure it is accurate and produce regular for senior stakeholders, enabling self-service reporting where appropriate.
  • Support end user training and adoption, i.e. by building out Salesforce champions across the business and building a self-service training platform.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of relevant, recent Salesforce lead experience, managing software backlogs and a team.
  • 4-6 years Salesforce development experience, specifically of Sales Cloud, CPQ and Service Cloud platform: Both declarative (e.g. Flows) and imperative (Apex, Visualforce).
  • Salesforce development or administration certifications are desirable.
  • Solid understanding of agile software development processes and tools (Jira).
  • Development experience with an integration platform such as Workato.
  • Knowledge of architectural, development and data management best practices.
  • Business analysis skills for requirements gathering and process mapping.
  • Project management experience would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); able to work closely and effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Competencies in team dynamics; leading and motivating to achieve results.
  • Ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
  • A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change.

  • Well organised and effective time management, with the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Experienced in delivering communications, stakeholder and senior management updates, "show-and-tells" and walkthroughs.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in a global B2B product-based business is desirable.
  • Experience or an awareness of other third-party platforms that support lead generation, relationship intelligence, CRM data automation and customer insights such as HubSpot, DemandBase, Gong, Spiff etc
