Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated UAV Design Engineer to join our R&D team. The

ideal candidate will have strong experience in aircraft design, aerodynamics, CAD modeling,

and systems integration. You will play a critical role in the design and development of fixed-

wing and/or VTOL UAV platforms from concept through to prototype and production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of UAV airframes and sub- systems.
  • Perform aerodynamic analysis and optimization of UAV configurations.
  • Design structural components and assemblies using advanced composite and lightweight materials.
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360).
  • Work closely with electronics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Conduct structural and thermal analysis (FEA, CFD) to validate design performance.
  • Participate in UAV prototyping, assembly, ground testing, and flight trials.
  • Document design processes, BOMs, and support regulatory compliance for airworthiness.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and design methodologies in UAV systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in UAV or aircraft design (internship experience may be considered for junior roles).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structural design.
  • Experience with composite materials and UAV fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with flight testing and UAV system integration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, XFOIL, Fluent, etc.) is desirable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing VTOL, hybrid, or long-endurance UAV platforms.
  • Familiarity with autopilot systems (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot) and avionics integration is plus.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (DGCA, FAA Part 107, etc.).
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion systems and battery technologies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
