Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Aerospace Engineering.

Job Description: The Production Technician is responsible for executing high-precision manufacturing and assembly operations of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The role demands strong technical skills, attention to detail and adherence to aerospace quality and safety standards.

Responsibility

  • Interpretation of Technical Drawings: Understand and interpret GD&T and complex assembly drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Identify tolerances, fits and critical dimensions during assembly operations.
  • Execute Manufacturing & Assembly Operations: Carry out manufacturing and assembly tasks by strictly following work instructions, engineering drawings and production plans. Ensure all components and assemblies meet dimensional and functional specifications.
  • Integration of Flight Control Surfaces: Perform installation and alignment of flight control surfaces including servo control adjustments. Ensure smooth and accurate movement of control systems as per OEM standards.
  • Structural Assembly and Fastening Operations: Execute structural assembly processes involving sealants, fasteners, riveting. Ensure proper torque, alignment, and bonding of components to maintain structural integrity.
  • Quality Compliance: Ensure all work is executed in alignment with defined quality compliance protocols and approved assembly procedures.
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with engineers, quality inspectors, and fellow technicians to resolve issues and improve processes. Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to corrective actions.
  • Maintain Workstation Hygiene and Safety: Keep the assigned workstation clean, organized, and compliant with safety and 5S standards. Support a lean and efficient work environment by maintaining tools and equipment properly.

Skill Set Requirement

  • Mechanical Assembly, Maintenance & Aerodynamics

Proficient in assembling UAV airframes, propulsion systems and payload mounts with a strong ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures.

  • Bonding & Surface Preparation: Experienced in preparing UAV surfaces and structures for bonding and applying adhesives and sealants.
  • Tool Handling and Precision Drilling & Fastening: Hands-on experience in hole drilling, countersink (CSK) drilling, riveting and fastening using aerospace-grade tools and techniques. Skilled in operating various hand tools and attachments including pneumatic and electric tools, torque wrenches, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation & Metrology Knowledge: Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to read and interpret complex assembly and engineering drawings. Familiarity with measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators for dimensional inspection
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ability to interpret work instructions and fill out work completion logs accurately and clearly.
