Senior Environmental and Social Expert

Role Overview

We are seeking an Environmental and Social Expert with over a decade of experience in managing and advising on sustainability, environmental compliance, and social impact initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, technical expertise, and stakeholder engagement skills to drive responsible development across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA) for infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects
  • Develop and implement Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs)
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations and international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Safeguards)
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations and community engagement programs
  • Advise on climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and pollution control strategies
  • Monitor and report on environmental and social performance indicators
  • Experience in obtaining Environmental clearances (EC), CTO etc.,
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners, and legais experts
  • Support ESG reporting and sustainability disclosures

Required Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Social Work, Sustainability, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in environmental and social domains
  • Proven track record in ESIA, ESMP, and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with international environmental and social frameworks
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience working with government agencies, multilateral banks, or private sector developers
  • Certification in ISO 14001, EHS, or similar standards
  • Experience in preparation of Environmental, Social, Health & Safety (ESHS) reports
  • Multilingual abilities and cross-cultural competence
