Accounting Manager

Summary:
The Accounting Manager (US Process) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations for US-based clients/business units. This role includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, managing month-end/year-end closing activities, supervising the accounting team, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of US accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and experience handling end-to-end accounting for US entities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting Operations
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for US entities/clients.
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, bank reconciliations, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet schedules.
2. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (US GAAP).
- Review and finalize month-end and year-end close activities.
- Provide variance analysis and financial insights to management.
- Prepare management reports, MIS, and dashboards as required.
3. Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IRS regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain strong internal controls across all accounting processes.
- Support federal, state, and local tax filings by coordinating with tax consultants.
4. Audit & Documentation
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.
- Ensure proper documentation, work papers, and audit-ready financial records.
5. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
- Review team outputs and ensure accuracy and timely deliverables.
- Support training and performance improvement for team members.
6. Tools & Systems
- Work with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or other US ERP systems.
- Support implementation and optimization of accounting tools and workflows.
Requirements:
Education & Certifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- CPA or CA/US CMA (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience
- 5–10 years of accounting experience with at least 2–3 years handling US accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience in managing a team.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of GL,AP, AR, payroll accounting, and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in US accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.).
- Strong communication skills to work with US clients and stakeholders.
