Summary:

The Accounting Manager (US Process) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations for US-based clients/business units. This role includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, managing month-end/year-end closing activities, supervising the accounting team, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of US accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and experience handling end-to-end accounting for US entities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Operations

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities for US entities/clients.
  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, bank reconciliations, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet schedules.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (US GAAP).
  • Review and finalize month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Provide variance analysis and financial insights to management.
  • Prepare management reports, MIS, and dashboards as required.

3. Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IRS regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain strong internal controls across all accounting processes.
  • Support federal, state, and local tax filings by coordinating with tax consultants.

4. Audit & Documentation

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.
  • Ensure proper documentation, work papers, and audit-ready financial records.

5. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
  • Review team outputs and ensure accuracy and timely deliverables.
  • Support training and performance improvement for team members.

6. Tools & Systems

  • Work with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or other US ERP systems.
  • Support implementation and optimization of accounting tools and workflows.

Requirements:

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • CPA or CA/US CMA (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience

  • 5–10 years of accounting experience with at least 2–3 years handling US accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience in managing a team.

Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of GL,AP, AR, payroll accounting, and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in US accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills to work with US clients and stakeholders.
