Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sub Editor (Malayalam) who can lead the content

workflow, edit and curate high-quality Malayalam news articles, and ensure accuracy, speed, and

reader engagement across our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit, rewrite, and proofread Malayalam news content for accuracy, clarity, and tone.
  • Plan and manage daily content flow for the Malayalam news desk.
  • Ensure headlines, visuals, and story presentation meet Oneindia editorial standards.
  • Coordinate with reporters, video editors, and digital producers for timely content updates.
  • Monitor breaking news and trending topics to ensure quick turnaround.
  • Optimize content for SEO and social media reach.
  • Mentor and guide junior sub-editors and writers.

Requirements:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a digital or print newsroom.
  • Strong command over the Malayalam language (writing and editing).
  • Good understanding of English for source reading and translation.
  • Familiarity with digital publishing tools, CMS, and SEO best practices.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple stories simultaneously.
