Delhi, Delhi, India GEAPP Full time ₹ 1,50,00,000 - ₹ 3,00,00,000 per year

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) works for a world where everyone has access to affordable, reliable, clean electricity and the means to use it to improve their lives. Our Alliance builds transformative public, private, philanthropic partnerships to end energy poverty and accelerate green economic opportunity. Founded in 2021 by The Rockefeller Foundation, IKEA Foundation, and Bezos Earth Fund, we design innovative projects/programs, unlock finance, strengthen institutions and transform markets, delivering progress anchored in deep community engagement. By uniting actors across the value chain, from households to heads of state, we go beyond individual projects to drive lasting systems change. With work in more than 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, our Alliance aims to reach 1 billion people with clean electricity, prevent 4 billion tons of carbon emissions and create or improve 150 million jobs.

OVERVIEW

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) is a systems-change platform accelerating clean energy transitions to reduce emissions, improve livelihoods, and create green jobs. Launched at COP26 in 2021 by The Rockefeller Foundation, the Bezos Earth Fund, and the IKEA Foundation, GEAPP aims to cut 4 gigatons of CO₂, reach 1 billion people with clean energy, and generate 150 million green jobs globally by 2030.

GEAPP India is at the forefront of the country's clean energy transformation, working to acceleration India's journey toward universal energy access and net-zero emissions by 2070. India represents one of GEAPP's largest opportunity markets with significant potential for energy transition initiatives, including through distributed renewable energy, energy storage, grid modernization and demand-side management that can serve as models for the Global South.

Our India Strategy focuses on supporting the country's ambitious renewable energy targets, enhancing energy access in rural and underserved communities, and creating sustainable livelihoods through clean energy value chains. We work closely with state governments, Indian conglomerates, indigenous clean energy companies, and grassroots organizations to turn national and state energy policies into on-ground impact.

In 2025, GEAPP launched a dedicated Philanthropy and Partnerships Division to expand and diversify our funding base, with India being a key market for philanthropic engagement given the growing ecosystem of Indian philanthropists, family offices, and impact investors committed to climate action.
