Operation Manager / Project Manager
to lead our project execution and installation operations across the state.
Position Overview
The
Operation Manager / Project Manager
will be responsible for
end-to-end execution of residential and commercial solar projects
, ensuring timely installation, quality delivery, engineering coordination, DISCOM liaison, and overall project completion.
This is a leadership role managing installation teams, supply chain coordination, contractors, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Timely Completion
- Lead the complete project lifecycle from order confirmation to commissioning.
- Ensure strict adherence to timelines for residential (PM Surya Ghar) and commercial projects.
- Create and monitor detailed project schedules and installation plans.
2. Team Leadership & Field Operations
- Head the
statewide installation, supply chain & service teams
across Odisha. - Allocate manpower, contractors, and resources for daily and weekly project targets.
- Conduct site audits, troubleshoot installation issues, and ensure safety compliance.
3. Engineering Coordination & Technical Support
- Work closely with the Engineering/Design team for layouts, structural drawings, SLDs, and technical clarifications.
- Ensure drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation are completed and approved before installation.
- Validate site feasibility, load analysis, and system configuration.
4. DISCOM Liaison & Documentation
- Coordinate with all four Odisha DISCOMs (TPCODL, NODL, SODL, WODL) for net-metering, inspection scheduling, and approvals.
- Ensure complete project documentation: survey reports, installation photos, QC reports, commissioning certificates, subsidies, and net-meter applications.
- Ensure smooth and timely submission of all regulatory documents.
5. Supply Chain & Material Management
- Oversee timely arrangement, dispatch, and delivery of materials to project sites.
- Ensure BOQ accuracy, material quality checks, and coordination with warehouse/logistics teams.
- Track material consumption and maintain project-wise cost control.
6. Customer Communication & Issue Resolution
- Address customer queries, site issues, and escalations professionally.
- Ensure customer satisfaction from installation through commissioning.
- Collect customer sign-offs, feedback, and handover documentation.
7. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Maintain daily and weekly MIS on project status, material dispatch, installation progress, and pending approvals.
- Prepare management reports on project timelines, revenue impact, and operational challenges.
- Monitor KPIs: installation cycle time, QC scores, net-meter approval time, team performance.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree (Electrical/Mechanical)
mandatory. - MBA preferred
(Operations/Project Management). - Minimum
5+ years of experience
in solar EPC project management. - Strong experience in both
residential PM Surya Ghar projects
and
commercial/industrial solar installations
. - Knowledge of DISCOM processes, net-metering rules, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in project planning tools, MS Excel/Sheets, and project MIS reporting.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel across Odisha.
