Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Head of HR who will own the end-to-end people strategy for our India operations while liaising closely with UK leadership to ensure alignment of policies, culture, HR processes, and compliance standards.
This role demands strong expertise across:

The ideal candidate will bring maturity, business acumen, and the ability to anticipate organisational needs in a dynamic, fast-evolving e-commerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR Leadership
- Build and execute a comprehensive HR roadmap aligned to organisational growth.
- Act as a senior advisor to leadership in India and the UK on workforce strategy, organisation design, employment law, and culture.
- Partner with global stakeholders to maintain consistency between India and UK HR practices.
2. Policy Development, HR Governance & Compliance
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, SOPs, and frameworks.
- Standardise HR processes to ensure transparency, fairness, and consistency.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with POSH, Shops & Establishment Act, labour codes, and emerging regulations.
- Maintain audit readiness and documentation accuracy at all times.
3. Cross-Border HR Coordination (IndiaUK)
Liaise with UK HR teams on:
Transnational policy alignment
- Expat/transfer support matters
- Performance calibrations
- Conduct and grievance escalation
- Support UK leadership on HR-led inquiries and workforce planning.
4. Recruitment, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Drive manpower planning aligned with business growth projections.
- Build robust hiring pipelines for technical, operational, and leadership roles.
- Implement structured recruitment processes, JDs, assessments, and talent tracking.
5. Employee Lifecycle Management
- Own onboarding, induction experience, probation reviews, confirmation, transfers, and exit management.
- Ensure timely documentation, HRIS data hygiene, and compliance filings.
- Strengthen employee communication channels and grievance protocols.
6. Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
Oversee monthly payroll operations including:
Statutory deductions
- Compliance reporting
Final settlements
Benchmark compensation and benefits against industry norms.
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
7. Statutory Compliance & Labour Law
Ensure 100% compliance with:
- PF
- ESI
- Bonus
- Gratuity
- Professional Tax
- Labour Welfare Fund
- Maternity Benefits
- POSH compliance (Internal Committee participation, if required)
- Maintain relationships with government authorities, legal counsel, and auditors for inspections and reporting.
8. Performance, Learning & Leadership Development
- Own the performance review lifecycle, calibration process, and KPI frameworks.
- Identify skill gaps and build capability through targeted training programmes.
- Promote a feedback-driven culture with clear accountability.
9. Employee Relations & Culture Building
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and transparent workplace environment.
- Drive recognition programmes, engagement initiatives, and retention strategies.
- Act as a trusted mediator for employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
10. HR Technology, Automation & Analytics
- Deploy HRMS/HRIS systems for digitised workflow management.
- Use people analytics to support decision-making in retention, hiring, and reward planning.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources (Tier-I/Tier-II institution preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3+ in leadership capacity
- Strong command of labour law, compliance and HR governance
- Experience working with international stakeholders (UK/Europe preferred)
