- Job Summary:The AS400 DB2 DBA Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of DB2 databases on AS400 systems. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the database environment, supporting business-critical applications and data management processes. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain DB2 databases on AS400 systems. Monitor database performance and ensure high availability and reliability. Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and errors. Implement and maintain database security measures. Optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization. Collaborate with application developers to design and implement database solutions. Document database configurations, procedures, and changes. Stay updated with the latest DB2 and AS400 technologies and best practices. Qualifications: Education:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DB2 database administration and AS400 systems. Skills:Proficiency in DB2 database administration. Strong knowledge of AS400 system administration. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with backup and recovery processes. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
