About the Role

We are looking for a
C Developer
with hands-on experience in
AS400 (IBM iSeries)
systems to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in
C programming
and a good understanding of AS400 environments, including DB2/400, CL programs, and RPG integration. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about low-level programming, system-level optimization, and working within enterprise-grade legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications written in
    C
    running on the
    AS400 (IBM iSeries)
    platform.
  • Collaborate with senior developers and analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, and system optimization within the AS400 environment.
  • Work with
    CL commands, DB2/400
    , and
    RPG
    interfaces when required for integration or data access.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Support existing applications by troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for developed components.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1–3 years
    of hands-on experience in
    C programming
    .
  • Exposure to or experience working with
    AS400 (IBM iSeries)
    systems.
  • Strong understanding of
    DB2/400
    ,
    CL programs
    , and
    OS/400 environment
    .
  • Proficiency with software development best practices — version control, debugging, and testing.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating
    C programs with RPG or COBOL applications
    on AS400.
  • Familiarity with
    SQL
    and
    stored procedures
    on DB2/400.
  • Understanding of
    batch job management
    and
    system operations
    in AS400.
  • Basic knowledge of
    shell scripting
    or
    automation tools
