AS400 SYNON Developer

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced AS400 Synon COBOL/400 Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems, Synon (CA 2E), and COBOL/400, with hands-on experience in analysis, design, development, and maintenance of complex enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement programs on AS400 using Synon (CA 2E) and COBOL/400.
Enhance and maintain existing applications to meet evolving business requirements.
Work closely with business analysts, architects, and QA teams to ensure robust solutions.
Perform impact analysis, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and best practices.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Support production systems and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
Technical Skills Required:
Strong experience in AS400/iSeries environment.
Hands-on expertise in Synon (CA 2E) and COBOL/400 programming.
Proficiency in CL/400, RPG/400, and DB2/400 (SQL, DDS, Physical & Logical Files).
Experience with batch jobs, job scheduling, and file handling on AS400.
Good understanding of SDLC, change management, and version control tools.
Experience in performance optimization and application debugging on AS400.
