Job Description:
As a Mechanical Shift Incharge in a ferro-alloys plant, you'll oversee and ensure the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the plant's mechanical systems, equipment, and processes during your shift, adhering to quality, safety, and production goals, and managing the team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Efficiency:
Oversee production equipment to ensure optimal performance and productivity, implementing measures to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems, ensuring they function correctly and safely.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and codes throughout the shift, implementing corrective actions when needed.
Team Management:
Supervise, motivate, and train the shift team, ensuring effective communication, and allocation of tasks, and promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, production data, and any issues or incidents, and provide reports to supervisors as required.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
Identify and address any mechanical issues or problems that arise during the shift, taking prompt corrective actions and ensuring a minimal disruption to production.
Material Handling:
Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of material handling systems including conveyors, feeders, crushers and related equipment.
Quality Control:
Participate in quality control procedures, ensuring that the ferro-alloys produced meet quality standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, equipment and operations and implement solutions.
