We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in mainframe technologies, production support, and release management, along with solid leadership and problem-solving skills. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, leading production activities, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support development, maintenance, and production activities in mainframe environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, DB2 Stored Procedures, SORT, SPUFI, QMF, IBM scripting, and MQ Series.
  • Manage production releases, pre- and post-production support, and issue resolution within defined SLAs.
  • Utilize tools such as INSYNC (Files & DB2), IBM Load Utilities, ADE Workbench, and SCLM for data and code management.
  • Collaborate with business partners to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
  • Develop and execute complex test plans to validate new or modified logic.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve defects, performing root cause analysis to ensure stability.
  • Provide feedback on business requirements and consult on technical builds.
  • Ensure compliance with Agile methodologies and actively participate in sprint activities.
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering knowledge sharing and technical growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, workflows, and configurations for system operations.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and synchronization using INSYNC and IBM utilities.
  • Proven expertise in production support, release management, and SLA adherence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, review design specifications, and develop robust application components.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong time management and prioritization under tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PDF).
  • Exposure to insurance domain (products, rules, systems) preferred.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Exstream Dialogue tool (rules, functions, workflows, driver file mapping).
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing and document composition (AFP/PDF outputs).
  • Familiarity with Rules Maintenance Systems and Offering Systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
