Job Title: Tool Room Maintenance Engineer – Injection Moulding

Job Summary:

The Tool Room Maintenance Engineer for Injection Moulding is responsible for the effective maintenance, repair, and management of injection moulding tools and machinery. This role ensures that all injection moulding equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely to meet production goals. The Engineer will implement preventive maintenance strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the tool room.

1. **Injection Moulding Tool Maintenance:**

2. Perform detailed inspections, maintenance, and repairs on injection moulding tools, dies, and related equipment.

3. Calibrate and fine-tune moulds to ensure optimal performance and quality of produced parts.

4. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to injection moulding processes.

5. **Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:**

6. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all injection moulding equipment.

7. Respond to and address urgent maintenance requests to minimize production downtime.

8. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.

9. **Technical Support and Troubleshooting:**

10. Provide technical support to production teams to resolve moulding-related issues and improve process efficiency.

11. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

12. **Tool Room Management:**

13. Oversee the organization and inventory management of tools and spare parts within the tool room.

14. Ensure proper storage, handling, and maintenance of all injection moulding tools and equipment.

15. Order and manage spare parts and consumables for injection moulding tools.

16. **Safety and Compliance:**

17. Ensure all injection moulding tools and machinery comply with safety standards and regulations.

18. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures as needed.

19. Train and educate team members on safe operation and maintenance of moulding equipment.

20. **Continuous Improvement:**

21. Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing tool performance and process efficiency.

22. Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements in injection moulding.

23. **Documentation and Reporting:**

24. Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance activities, tool conditions, and performance metrics.

25. Prepare and present reports on tool performance, maintenance status, and improvement initiatives.

• **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a relevant technical certification combined with extensive experience may be considered.

• **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of experience in tool maintenance and engineering within an injection moulding environment.

• **Skills:**

• Extensive knowledge of injection moulding processes, tools, and machinery.

• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing complex moulding equipment.

• Familiarity with maintenance management systems and tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• **Certifications:** Relevant certifications related to injection moulding or maintenance engineering are a plus.

• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy moulding tools and components.

• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including potential exposure to noise and dust.

• Capable of standing, bending, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.

• Primarily based in the tool room and injection moulding areas.

• May require occasional overtime or weekend work to address urgent maintenance needs or support production schedules.
