We are seeking a motivated and organized Junior Merchant to assist the merchandising and production teams in managing the day-to-day operations of apparel product development. The role involves handling documentation, costing coordination, barcoding, and vendor follow-ups to ensure smooth production flow and timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage file handovers between design, development, and production teams.
  • Support in costing, cost closure, and order finalization.
  • Coordinate bar code generation and SKU creation for new styles.
  • Follow up with vendors, suppliers, and factories for sampling, production, and dispatch updates.
  • Track production timelines and update internal T&A (Time & Action) sheets.
  • Maintain organized records of tech packs, approvals, and order sheets.
  • Assist senior merchants in style allocation, material tracking, and shipment follow-up.
  • Prepare and update MIS reports related to product and vendor performance.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Good understanding of fashion merchandising and apparel production cycles.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with vendors and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, Textile Management, or Commerce.
  • 1–2 years of experience in fashion merchandising, production, or sourcing preferred.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience with women's wear, men's wear, or fashion export houses.
  • Familiarity with fabric types, trims, and basic garment costing.
