Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant General Manager in Textile Processing for Technical Fabrics, based in Cuddalore, a coastal city in TN 3 hours away from Chennai Airport and less than 1 hour drive from Pondicherry. The role involves overseeing textile processing operations, ensuring quality standards are met, supervising teams, and managing production schedules. The candidate also may be responsible for client interactions, data analysis for process optimization, and maintaining compliance with industry certifications. Close collaboration with internal teams to meet organizational goals is a key aspect of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate production data, optimize processes, and solve technical challenges
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders
• Proficiency in customer service to manage client interactions and satisfaction
• Basic understanding or experience in finance and underwriting for cost management and compliance
• Leadership ability to manage teams and projects effectively
• Educational background in textile engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is highly desirable
• Previous experience in textile processing or technical fabrics is advantageous

Technical Experience

· Should have good experience (15 – 20 Years) in processing industry in continuous Bleaching, dyeing and finishing.

Should have core and vast experience in dyeing Manager position in reputed organisation with minimum 10 years' experience.

· Should have good knowledge and experience in processing various fabric – Cotton & Cotton Blends, Lycra, Polyester, Polyester blends, Viscose, Modal, Linen, Meta aramid and modacrylic fabrics.

· Should have experience in processing from low GSM to Higher GSM (50 to 400 GSM) and selecting right process route for bleaching, dyeing and finishes with different recipes and different process sequence according to fabric and meet customer quality requirements.

· Should have good knowledge and experience in various dyeing process like CPB, Thermosol, Vat, Fluorescent dyeing, Cationic dyeing is preferred.

· Should have experience in various quality testing methods and standards of ISO, American and European standards.

· Should have experience in complete follow up end to end for each executing each order.

Operational Experience:

· Plan for production with available product mix to ensure maximum production with quality standards and timely delivery to customers. Monitor the gap between plan Vs actual on daily basis and reduce the gap.

· Ensure production capacity is filled and avoid stoppage of machines due to want of orders, and to maintain monthly turnover for the plant

· Monitor the availability of raw materials for continuous operation without stoppage.

· Monitor the inventory and control through PPC on daily basis.

· Monitor daily operation cost related to fuel, water, steam, utilities, dyes and chemical consumption, and control wherever possible for energy conservation.

· Experience in monitoring day to day operations, identifying deviations, making appropriate decisions wherever possible and putting things back on track.

· Conduct production and quality meetings with team, discuss and lead them to meet the production target, quality and any deviation resolve with daily, weekly and monthly meetings for continuous improvement.

· Ensure the SOPs in place is followed in all departments.

· Have experience in conducting quality circles to improve quality and cost savings.

· Coordinate with lab team and ensure quality of raw materials purchased.

· Monitor and ensure the fabric realization according to the fabric type

· Have experience in monitoring the order completion status of each order and ensure order to order reconciliation and stock accountability.

4)     Cold Pad Batch

5)     Pad dry CPB

6)     Exhaust (Jigger and soft flow)

7)     Thermosol dyeing

8)     Cationic dying- Preferable

9)     Pigment dying.

Should have sound knowledge in all type of chemical and Mechanical finishes.
