Join Norig, the operational backbone of ElbeFruit GmbH and Atlantic Fruit GmbH, two leading fresh produce importers serving the European and UK markets. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer – Fresh Produce to ensure our operations meet the highest standards of food safety and regulatory compliance.

In this pivotal role, you will lead key certification processes such as Global GAP CoC and IFS Broker, maintain supplier documentation systems, and respond rapidly to compliance incidents. You will be working closely with our trading teams at both ElbeFruit and Atlantic Fruit, helping us uphold our commitment to product integrity and international standards.

Tasks

Audit Preparation & Leadership

  • Lead recertification audits for Global GAP CoC and IFS Broker at ElbeFruit.
  • Oversee Global GAP CoC recertification and prepare Atlantic Fruit for first-time IFS Broker certification.

Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure all operations are audit-ready and aligned with EU and UK food safety regulations.
  • Monitor and resolve compliance incidents within 24 hours.

Supplier Documentation & Tools

  • Maintain supplier documentation in Agriplace, ensuring 100% completeness.
  • Measure and increase response rate from suppliers over the first 12 months.

Process Development

  • Implement compliance SOPs, escalation protocols, and internal audit routines.
  • Conduct quarterly risk assessments and internal reviews.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams across ElbeFruit and Atlantic Fruit to support compliance across purchasing, logistics, and sales operations.

Reporting

  • Deliver quarterly dashboards and KPIs to management, supporting operational transparency.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in food safety and compliance, preferably in the fresh produce or food import/export industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing Global GAP CoC and IFS Broker audits (recertification and first-time).
  • Strong knowledge of European and UK food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with cloud supply chain compliance tools and general office software.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate remotely across time zones.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
