Role Summary:

Responsible to ensure the electrical maintenance activities are to be completed by supervisors and electricians as per the schedule & maintenance plan.

He should be responsible to provide adequate support to the plant operations and coordinate with the production department for handling the production-related issues /problems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

General activities

Key points: Manage & coordinate the following activities like electrical machine inspection & Machine settings, breakdown & Periodic maintenance activities, Project design and implementations, report preparation & analysis, cost reduction measures, and 5S & TPM activities.

  1. Responsible to maintain and improve the efficiency of electrical machines, instruments, and other facilities with the coordination of manager – electrical maintenance.

  2. Responsible to coordinate the electrical operations and project implementation activities in the plant with the help of Supervisors, electricians, and other concerned team members for the efficient and effective running of the plant.

  3. Responsible to estimate the cost for installation and commissioning activities of a project and submit to the Manager after preparing the project budget for verification with safety guidelines.

  4. Responsible to prepare the specification lists/technical drawings for doing the purchase/repairing the electrical equipment with the coordination of the electrical and purchase the team.

  5. Responsible to optimize the consumption of electrical parts and other consumable items and also reuse the repaired parts for electrical maintenance activities to reduce the overall maintenance costs.

  6. Responsible to prepare the preventive maintenance schedules and reports, daily/weekly/monthly, and conduct the activities at the scheduled time.

  7. Responsible to coordinate the activities ie, troubleshooting PLC, AC/DC drives, electricalmachines,transformers,VCB,ACBpanels,Hydraulics,Pneumatic equipments,cooling towers,chillers,fluid pumps with proper OEM guidelines and saftey.

  8. Responsible to ensure minimum power consumption with low wastages (end cutting, conductor heat losses, etc) for achieving the targeted production.

  9. Responsible to diagnose the electrical breakdowns in the plant and take corrective actions to resolve the breakdowns with the coordination of the concerned team (maintenance and production) at the earliest to reduce the lost time & wastages.

  10. Responsible to develop and motivate the team to improvise their performance and skills for achieving professional growth.

  11. Responsible to provide training to team members, related to skills and work-related orientations to help their career growth.

  12. Responsible to implement 5S and TPM activities within the organization and train the team to follow these activities in the plant premises.

  13. Responsible to prepare reports after compiling data related to the existing or new electrical projects and studies.

Report preparation and analysis

  1. Responsible to prepare the daily worksheet/logbook related to maintenance activities.
