Job Summary

The Principal is the chief academic and administrative head of the Engineering College, responsible for academic leadership, regulatory compliance, faculty management, institutional development, and quality assurance in accordance with AICTE, Anna University, and UGC norms.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership

  • Provide strategic academic direction for UG and PG engineering programs.
  • Ensure curriculum delivery as per AICTE and Anna University regulations.
  • Promote outcome-based education (OBE), research, innovation, and industry-oriented learning.
  • Monitor academic performance, student outcomes, and examination results.

Administration & Governance

  • Oversee day-to-day college administration and policy implementation.
  • Manage faculty recruitment, workload allocation, appraisal, and development.
  • Prepare academic calendars, timetables, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Ensure effective coordination between departments and administrative units.

Regulatory, Accreditation & Quality Assurance

  • Lead AICTE approvals, Anna University affiliation processes, NBA/NAAC accreditation, and audits.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices and quality benchmarks.

Faculty & Student Development

  • Mentor faculty for teaching excellence, research, publications, and funded projects.
  • Encourage student skill development, internships, projects, and placements.
  • Maintain discipline, grievance redressal, and student welfare mechanisms.

Industry Linkages & Institutional Growth

  • Strengthen industry partnerships, MoUs, internships, training, and placement activities.
  • Promote research centers, incubation, innovation, and consultancy services.
  • Represent the institution in academic, industry, and public forums.
  • Support admissions, branding, and institutional reputation building.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Engineering / Technology (relevant discipline) – Mandatory
  • Minimum 15 years of teaching/research experience, including administrative experience as HOD / Dean / Vice Principal / Principal
  • Must meet AICTE eligibility norms for Principal
  • Strong familiarity with Anna University, AICTE, NBA, and NAAC processes

Salary

As per AICTE norms / Management policy, commensurate with qualification and experience
