The Cloud Migration and Modernization Engineering (CMME) team is seeking an experienced, lead-level, cloud solution architect with a demonstrated ability to evaluate, solution, estimate, implement and document cloud centric application architectures and deployment methodologies. The candidate must be able to advise application and data migration efforts and directly contribute to the design and implementation of varied application solutions, IaC implementation, and operational capabilities. We solution for and operate across Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud service providers, however, this position will have an Azure focus.

Team members in this role must understand development and deployment workflows and be capable of providing appropriate and actionable guidance pertinent to re-factoring applications towards more cloud optimal architectures and alignment to cloud well-architected best-practices. Individuals in this role must have the ability to drive technical solutioning efforts, mentor team members, and work in collaboration with other teams to drive application migration and modernization efforts.

Primary Responsibility

Required Qualifications

• Azure Certification(s) (verifiable)
• Azure - 5+ years solutioning and deploying applications in Azure cloud
• Lead Experience - 3+ years in a role demonstrating ability to own and drive deliverables with minimal technical guidance
• Experience architecting for both Linux and Windows environments
• Azure function apps (serverless architectures)
• Azure Container Apps / AKS (proficiency with containerized deployment architectures)
• Azure Database & Cosmos DB (relational and NoSQL database design, data management)
• Networking (solid understanding of general and cloud virtual networking)
• Azure cloud security and recovery practices
• Web services and API design
• Azure data streaming/messaging services (e.g. Stream Analytics, Functions, Kafka)
• IaC with Terraform
• CI/CD automation using GitHub / GitHub Actions
• Implementation of auto-scaling, cost-management techniques, and operational monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Golang / Python / .Net-C# / Java (Prefer at least one, with a leaning towards Golang)
• Experience with alternative cloud service providers (AWS, GCP)
• Hashicorp Vault
• Kubernetes
• Databricks pipelines
• MLOps
