This role will sit with the client's project management team and act as the single point of contact for HSE activities across multiple contractors and vendors. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements, international best practices (ISO 45001, NEBOSH), and the client's global safety standards while supporting smooth, on-schedule delivery of power infrastructure including electrical transformers, switchgear, cabling, generators, and related structural and civil works. Role and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain the project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plan in alignment with client policy and local regulationsConduct regular risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and site safety inspections for all power infrastructure activitiesLead pre-construction HSE reviews of engineering designs, procurement packages, and construction methodologiesCoordinate and chair weekly/bi-weekly safety coordination meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and site managementDeliver toolbox talks, specialized training (electrical hazards, working at height, confined spaces), and emergency response drillsMonitor and report on leading and lagging safety indicators; track corrective actions and close-out non-conformancesInvestigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare root-cause analyses and corrective/preventive action plansLiaise with local authorities, statutory inspectors, and third-party auditors to secure permits and demonstrate regulatory complianceChampion a positive safety culture through visible leadership, site walkdowns, and recognition of safe working practicesSupport contractor pre-qualification and evaluation processes to ensure HSE competency before site mobilizationRequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related disciplineNEBOSH International Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent certificationMinimum 8–10 years of hands-on HSE management experience in high-voltage power infrastructure or large-scale industrial constructionProven track record on data centre or mission-critical facilities projects, including transformer yards, switchgear installation, and generator house constructionDeep knowledge of Indian Factory Act, Electricity Act, national electricity rules, and state pollution control board normsFamiliarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 frameworksStrong communication skills in English; Hindi or a regional language is an advantageDemonstrated ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams and drive safety performance improvementsProficiency in HSE software tools (incident management, audit checklists, permit-to-work systems) and MS Office suiteWillingness to be on-site full time and travel between data centre campuses as requiredLocation: On-site –Mumbai, MHScheduled Weekly Hours:48If this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all of the requirements.  We're interested in getting to know you and what you bring to the tableJLL Privacy NoticeJones Lang LaSalle (JLL), together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is a leading global provider of real estate and investment management services.
