Job Description:

We are looking for a Lead Instrumentation Engineer with a solid background in Material Handling Systems. The ideal candidate will oversee all instrumentation-related activities throughout the project lifecycle, encompassing design review, installation supervision, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead instrumentation execution for Material Handling Systems (MHS) and related industrial operations.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of field instruments (transmitters, sensors, VFDs, PLCs, etc.).
  • Plan and schedule preventive & predictive maintenance of instrumentation systems.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and automation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Interpret and implement P&ID, loop diagrams, and control system architectures.
  • Vendor coordination for instrument procurement and installation support.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
  • Support project documentation, including as-built drawings, manuals, and maintenance logs.
  • Guide and train junior engineers and site technicians.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong expertise in PLC, SCADA, VFD, and field instrumentation
  • Familiar with ABB/Siemens instrumentation systems
  • Sound knowledge of calibration standards and tools
  • Good understanding of Material Handling System processes and controls
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation and controls

Preferred Background:

  • Prior experience in industrial plants (Steel, Aluminium, Mining, Cement, etc.)
  • Exposure to O&M Projects or EPC contracts in the Instrumentation domain
