Purpose of Role

To ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted functioning of all electrical systems, equipment, and installations within the school campus by performing preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance.

CSA School Electrician - Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform regular inspection and maintenance of electrical wiring, distribution boards, panels, switches, lights, fans, and other fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in classrooms, labs, offices, and common areas.
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply to essential areas such as computer labs, CCTV systems, and administrative offices.

2. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and statutory requirements.
• Maintain proper records of electrical inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Identify potential hazards and take preventive measures to avoid electrical accidents.
• Assist in fire safety inspections and ensure electrical systems follow safety protocols.

3. Equipment Installation & Monitoring

• Install, test, and maintain electrical appliances, UPS, generators, water pumps, and related equipment.
• Support in setting up electrical arrangements for school events, assemblies, and functions.
• Monitor power usage and report abnormalities to the management.

4. Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct routine checks of electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
• Replace defective bulbs, tubes, switches, and other components proactively.
• Maintain generator and UPS systems, ensuring timely servicing.

5. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and facility teams for major electrical repairs.
• Report daily work updates and maintenance issues to the Admin Manager.
• Support the maintenance team in general repair and upkeep activities when required.
