Job Title: Procurement Executive
Location: Rourkela, Odisha
Department: Procurement / Purchase
Reports To: Procurement Manager / Project Head
Job Summary:
The Procurement Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services required for project execution at Rourkela. The role involves coordinating with vendors, site engineers, and the head office to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement aligned with company standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Procurement:
- Identify and source construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, fittings, electrical.) as per project requirements.
- Float inquiries, obtain quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Raise purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely dispatch of materials to the site.
2. Vendor Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, and service.
- Maintain an updated vendor database for approved suppliers and contractors.
3. Coordination & Documentation:
- Coordinate with site engineers, storekeepers, and the accounts department for material requirements, stock updates, and bill processing.
- Maintain procurement records, PO registers, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), and delivery challans.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and documentation standards.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Ensure materials are procured within approved cost limits.
- Track price fluctuations and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
5. Logistics & Delivery Follow-up:
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
- Coordinate transportation, unloading, and storage arrangements.
- Handle any delivery discrepancies, shortages, or quality issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or Graduate with relevant experience.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in procurement or purchase in a construction / infrastructure company.
- Software Skills: MS Office, ERP / SAP (preferred), email communication.
- Language: Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Odia preferred.
Key Skills:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of construction materials and market rates.
- Excellent communication and coordination ability.
- Attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently at a project site.
Working Conditions:
- Based at Rourkela project site with regular field visits to vendors and suppliers.
- May require travel to nearby cities for sourcing and vendor coordination.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15, ₹25,000.00 per month
