Senior Lead – Business Intelligence

About The Role
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Analytics & Technology Lead to own the Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics function. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Power BI, Python and SQL with strong leadership and stakeholder management to drive automation, data governance, and evidence-based decision-making across the organization. This role requires experience building scalable data pipelines, delivering actionable insights, and improving operational efficiency in fast-paced, digital or e-commerce environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of enterprise Power BI reports and interactive dashboards; implement best practices in visualization, DAX optimization and performance tuning for large datasets.
• Build and maintain robust ETL/data pipeline processes using SQL Server, Python (pandas), and other integration tools; ensure data quality, lineage and documentation for reproducible analytics.
• Automate recurring reporting workflows and MIS using advanced Excel, Power Automate, and scripting to reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery.
• Manage secure publishing, role-level security (RLS), and distribution of BI artifacts to internal and external stakeholders; ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, operations and finance teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, KPIs and measurement frameworks.
• Lead data cleaning, modeling, dimensional modeling and KPI definition; implement data warehouse best practices and optimize for query performance.
• Oversee automation initiatives (RPA, bots, web scrapers) and software/product development efforts that improve process efficiency and reduce cycle time.
• Mentor and develop junior analysts, manage delivery across multiple concurrent projects and enforce agile project management practices.
• Act as primary client-facing analytics lead on technical deliverables, presenting insights, recommendations and roadmaps to senior leadership.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new analytics tools, cloud services (Azure/AWS) and best practices to scale BI capabilities and support predictive analytics initiatives.

Required Skills

• Power BI (dashboarding, visualization, DAX, performance tuning) and familiarity with BI concepts (SSRS, SSIS, data warehouses).
• Strong SQL (T-SQL), relational databases (SQL Server) and experience building ETL/data pipelines.
• Python for data manipulation and automation (pandas, numpy); experience with APIs and scripting for data ingestion.
• Advanced Excel including macros, pivot tables, Power Query/Power Pivot for automation and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, transformation, KPI definition, and dimensional modeling (star schemas).
• Proven stakeholder engagement, communication skills and ability to translate analytics into business impact.
• Demonstrated leadership delivering cross-functional BI projects, mentoring analysts, and driving process improvements.
• Familiarity with automation/RPA tools, Power Platform (Power Apps/Power Automate) and cloud analytics (Azure/AWS) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in analytics, BI, data engineering or reporting roles with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
• Prior experience in e-commerce, digital products, or other high-velocity commercial environments preferred; experience with A/B testing, attribution or growth analytics is a plus.
