Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Mumbai. As a Senior Accountant at MIJA, you will play a vital role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare and process financial transactions such as invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide financial reports and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Support the team in analyzing and monitoring cash flow, budget utilization, and financial performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience of 5-10 years as an Accountant or in a similar role.
  • At least 2-3 years of prior work experience in the jewellery industry, with working knowledge of GATI ERP software is mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in using Tally Prime and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Indian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, or CMA are preferred.
