Our Client , a newly established medical device manufacturing company focused on developing and producing vascular and interventional medical devices. The company is setting up its integrated manufacturing facility at Oragadam, Chennai and operates under global regulatory standards such as ISO 13485, US FDA, EU MDR, and CDSCO.

Role & responsibilities:

The Plant Head will be responsible for end-to-end leadership of the manufacturing plant, covering production, planning, quality compliance, people management, maintenance, and operational excellence.

This is a senior leadership role reporting to the top management and will play a key role in stabilising and scaling operations in a regulated medical device environment.

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations across multiple processes including precision manufacturing, assembly, and cleanroom operations.
  • Ensure achievement of production targets, yield, efficiency, and delivery commitments.
  • Drive adherence to SOPs, GMP, and safety practices.
  • Prepare and execute production plans in line with demand forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate closely with supply chain, engineering, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and improve OEE, productivity, downtime, and scrap levels.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, EU MDR, and CDSCO requirements.
  • Maintain audit readiness at all times and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Lead CAPA, deviation handling, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead and develop plant teams including production managers, engineers, supervisors, and operators.
  • Drive manpower planning, training, performance management, and discipline on the shop floor.
  • Build a strong culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of all plant equipment and utilities.
  • Ensure equipment qualification, commissioning, and validation activities are executed
  • Manage the plant operating budget with focus on cost control and efficiency.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.

ERP / Manufacturing systems exposure
