The Role

We're hiring a Backend Engineer to build the core infrastructure that powers campaign creation, optimization, and performance intelligence across multiple ad networks (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok, Bing, Snapchat, and more).

This isn't just API integration work. You'll architect backend systems, own AWS infrastructure, build data pipelines, and ensure everything scales reliably. This role is 60% backend architecture, 40% infrastructure/DevOps.

Requirements evolve weekly, new features get added constantly, and you need to keep up without breaking things.

What You'll Do

Backend Development:

• Build and maintain deep integrations with multiple ad platform APIs
• Design microservices architecture for campaign management, analytics fetching, and optimization
• Build internal APIs connecting backend logic to our dashboard
• Create data pipelines for syncing performance data from ad platforms to our database
• Integrate AI APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) for dynamic ad generation and optimization
• Ensure systems are scalable, fault-tolerant, and production-ready

Infrastructure & DevOps:

• Architect and manage AWS infrastructure (RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Set up CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Handle database design, migrations, and optimization
• Ensure security best practices across the stack
• Own deployment, scaling, and incident response

System Design:

• Design systems that handle OAuth flows, rate limiting, retries, and error recovery
• Build for reliability: what happens when APIs go down, tokens expire, or jobs fail?
• Lead technical documentation and architecture decisions
• Think through edge cases, failure modes, and scalability challenges

What You Bring

Must Have:

• 2-4 years of backend development experience
• Strong understanding of backend principles: APIs, authentication, data modeling, asynchronous processing
• Solid experience (this is our primary stack) and Python
• AWS experience is critical - we need someone who can architect and manage infrastructure
• DevOps fundamentals - CI/CD, monitoring, deployment pipelines, debugging production issues
• Experience working with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and third-party integrations
• Understanding of rate limiting, retries, error handling, and resilient system design
• Comfortable with databases (Postgres) - schema design, queries, optimization
• Ability to work independently and own complete systems end-to-end
• Strong debugging skills - you'll spend time fixing things, not just building new features

Nice to Have:

• Experience with ad platform APIs (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.) or marketing automation
• GenAI/LLM integration experience (prompt engineering, API usage)
• Frontend skills ) - helps you understand the full system
• Previous startup or fast-paced environment experience
