Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented HR Manager to manage all human resource operations at our steel plant. The role requires both administrative and field responsibilities, including manual attendance tracking, payroll and overtime management, and labor compliance. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Excel, well-versed in statutory documentation, and comfortable working in a plant environment with extended working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Attendance & Payroll Management
- Maintain daily attendance records manually and in Excel.
- Prepare monthly salary sheets including overtime (OT), leave adjustments, and carry forwards.
- Verify attendance and shift schedules for workers and staff.
- Coordinate with the accounts department for salary disbursement and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate data for audit and reporting purposes.
2. Workforce & Labor Management
- Oversee daily manpower deployment and verify contract labor attendance.
- Monitor worker productivity, absenteeism, and discipline on the shop floor.
- Ensure smooth coordination between management, supervisors, and labor contractors.
3. Compliance & Record Maintenance
- Maintain and update all statutory registers and HR records as per labor laws and factory regulations.
- Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, gratuity, minimum wages, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Handle labor inspections, documentation, and compliance audits.
- Prepare and maintain HR-related MIS reports and data summaries.
4. Recruitment & Joining Formalities
- Manage recruitment for plant-level and staff positions.
- Conduct interviews, prepare offer letters, and complete joining formalities.
- Ensure proper induction and documentation of new employees.
5. Employee Relations & Grievance Handling
- Maintain healthy employee relations through regular communication and feedback.
- Handle grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in a professional manner.
- Support management in implementing company policies and ensuring adherence at all levels.
6. General HR Operations
- Supervise the time office and ensure proper functioning of attendance systems.
- Manage leave records, shift rotations, and weekly off schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of performance reports and other HR-related data.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Graduate or Postgraduate in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in HR operations, preferably in a steel plant or manufacturing unit.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Data Validation).
- Knowledge of manual attendance systems and salary computation.
- Familiarity with HR registers and statutory documentation.
Key Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Ability to manage both administrative and on-ground HR work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
Working Hours:
- Days: Monday to Saturday
- Timings: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM (as per plant schedule)
Compensation:
- Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
