The Public Relations Officer is responsible for managing the school's day-to-day communication with parents, media, and the public, ensuring a positive image of the school and smooth information flow between management and stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesCommunication & Public Image

  • Act as the official point of contact for external communication.
  • Draft and circulate notices, press releases, newsletters, and announcements.
  • Maintain consistency in the school's public messaging.

Parent & Community Relations

  • Handle parent enquiries related to communication, events, and general information.
  • Support school leadership during parent meetings and public interactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community members and institutions.

Media Coordination

  • Coordinate with local newspapers, TV channels, and digital media for coverage.
  • Share school achievements, events, and milestones with media partners.
  • Monitor news and online mentions related to the school.

Event & Outreach Support

  • Coordinate PR activities for school events, academic results, admissions, and celebrations.
  • Ensure proper branding and representation during events and external programs.
  • Assist in organizing open houses, orientation sessions, and outreach programs.

Digital & Internal Communication

  • Support social media and website communication in coordination with the admin/marketing team.
  • Ensure timely internal communication to teachers and staff.
  • Assist HR and administration in official communication.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Confident public speaking and interpersonal skills
  • Event coordination and relationship management
  • Problem-solving and calm handling of sensitive situations
  • Basic knowledge of digital media and social platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Media, or related field
  • Experience in schools, colleges, or education institutions preferred
