Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Communication: Contact international customers via phone or email to discuss overdue payments and find solutions.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate repayment plans, payment arrangements, and potential settlements with debtors.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately maintain detailed records of all collection activities, customer interactions, and payment statuses in a database or system.
  • Issue Resolution: Address customer queries and investigate reasons for delinquency, coordinating with internal teams like finance or customer service to resolve billing issues.
  • Target Achievement: Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies, internal procedures, and international regulations and compliance standards.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities, outstanding debts, and debtor performance to management.
  • Account Management: Monitor overdue accounts, perform account reconciliations, and update customer records.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential, along with strong listening skills.
  • Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate and persuade customers to reach mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: The ability to communicate effectively with customers from different cultural backgrounds is crucial for success in this role.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze customer situations and develop appropriate debt recovery strategies.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple accounts and tasks effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and other tools used in the collections process.
  • Detail-Oriented: A high degree of accuracy is required for maintaining detailed records and managing accounts.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
