Network Engineer

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, monitor and maintain robust network infrastructures connecting all locations to deliver secure, high-availability (99.9%) network services throughout a global environment.
• Implement and support networking solutions according to our Incorporated standards and industry best practices.
• Assist and consult with systems and network professionals, including those at other sites, on networking initiatives, technologies, and compatibility between sites.
• Work with external vendors to provide a stable network environment.
• Manage and implement planned changes in pre-scheduled maintenance windows off hours.
• Deliver end-user support to a regional user base on a timely basis and in accordance with department standards, consistent with legal and statutory requirements and with industry best practices.

Education & Experience

• B.E /B. Tech / M.E/M. Tech (CS/EE/ECE) or Equivalent, Having Cisco CCNA / CCNP certifications are advantage.
• 5-8 years of experience in Enterprise Network planning, design, and management for a global company.

Skills
Excellent knowledge of Switching, Routing & Firewall concepts.

• Monitor network devices using the Monitoring tool (such as SolarWinds), coordinate with site contacts and service providers as needed, and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
• Strong hands-on experience in handling troubleshooting network and security related issues.
• Responsible for managing Palo Alto firewalls, your duties will typically span across configuring, maintaining, securing, monitoring, troubleshooting to ensure network integrity and safety.
• Good to have knowledge on F5 Load balancers, Versa SDWAN and Netbrain.
• Must be able to scale upwards and adopt newer technologies that include converged infrastructure, software de-fined networks, and application delivery.
• Excellent customer service skills including telephone techniques, listening skills, sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
• Good English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with end-users, IT professionals and management.
• Demonstrated skills in network project planning and management, documentation, problem-solving and work prioritization.
• Strong vendor management experience desired.
• Must be both team-oriented and self-motivated.
• Willing to travel, domestic and international.
• Willing to work in 24/7 rotational shifts.

Working Conditions

• The work mode of Finisar India is Hybrid i.e. 3 days at office. (Tue, Wed, Thurs)
• Should be flexible to support different time zones
• Should be flexible to be available 24*7 as needed
• Should have strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and peer groups across the locations of Coherent.
• Should be available for on-call support on a rotational basis.
