Position-Area Sales Manager-

Reporting to: Regional Sales Manager.

Role Overview:

The Area Sales Manager will lead a team of Sales Executives/ Sr. Sales Executives, drive business growth within the assigned territory, and ensure sales targets are met. This role requires a strategic approach to sales planning, key account management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy & Execution

  2. Develop and implement territory-specific sales plans.

  3. Monitor sales performance and take corrective action when needed.
  4. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.

  5. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  6. Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Sales Executives.

  7. Conduct regular field visits to support and guide team members.
  8. Monitor performance metrics and ensure targets are met.

  9. Key Account & Distributor Management

  10. Strengthen relationships with hospitals, Key opinion leaders, procurement teams, and distributors.

  11. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and ensure smooth order fulfilment.
  12. Optimize distributor network for maximum efficiency and sales growth.

  13. Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

  14. Track competitor activities and market trends to refine sales strategies.

  15. Provide feedback on customer needs to align product positioning.

  16. Operational & Financial Responsibilities

  17. Ensure accurate sales forecasting and reporting.

  18. Coordinate with supply chain teams for inventory planning.
  19. Oversee timely payment collections and credit control.
Profile

Key Requirements:

  • Education: B.sc, Pharmacy, or Business (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 7-10 years in medical consumables sales, with at least 2 years in a people Manager role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Additionally: Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
