Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex backup systems to ensure high availability and data integrity.

Your primary focus will be on managing and configuring the Allscripts Global Managed Services Storage and Backup infrastructure. This includes establishing and maintaining EMC Avamar, Commvault, and Data Domain backup systems.

  • You will have expertise in backup technologies such as EMC Avamar, Commvault backup tool, and Data Domain.
  • Mastery of server configuration, media server setup, and connectivity is essential.
  • You should have knowledge of local database backup and log purging.
  • Addition or removal of backup data agents for Exchange, SQL, etc. will also be part of your responsibilities.
  • LAN and SAN & NAS based backups using EMC Avamar and Commvault require your attention.
  • Database backups and restores for Oracle, SQL, etc. will also be handled by you.
  • Virtualization software like VMware and Hyper-V backups are another area where your skills will be utilized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backup/recovery solutions using EMC Avamar.
  • Installation and configuration of Avamar agents on physical servers at Windows, AIX, and Linux.
  • Restoration of Windows and Unix flat files, SQL DB, Exchange DB in EMC Avamar and Commvault.
  • Configuration of SQL database, Oracle database, and Exchange database backups.
  • Experience in backup management, including administration, implementation, upgrade, troubleshooting, and system management.
  • Decommissioning clients, which involves performing full backups and deregistering servers from the backup tool.
  • Daily backup report and health status of all backup clients preparation.
