Our established Power Systems Engineering business in Australia has been a pioneer in grid connection for clean energy generation, with over 20 years of experience and a significant involvement in renewable projects connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM). Now, we're expanding our Power and Energy System Consultancy to support the growing Australian market from India and are seeking Senior Power Systems Engineers to join our team in Bengaluru.
About the Role: As a Senior Power Systems Engineer in our team, you'll play an essential role in the grid connection process for new renewable energy generation projects. You'll work with key stakeholders, including project owners, investors, OEMs, Network Service Providers (NSPs), and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), to support each stage of the project lifecycle—from application to commissioning. You'll contribute your technical expertise to deliver solutions for grid connection challenges, including weak grid issues and network congestion.
This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-looking team with a consistent client base and an outstanding track record. If you're passionate about advancing renewable energy and solving complex technical issues, we want to hear from you
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality Power Systems studies for renewable energy projects, working closely with developers, investors, utilities, and operators.
- Develop and implement technical solutions for network and connection issues, addressing challenges such as weak grid scenarios and congestion.
- Drive project success by applying your expertise to achieve critical project milestones and grid connection approvals.
- Manage projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery across a range of assignments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and internal procedures to maintain high-quality outcomes.
- Identify potential project extensions and future opportunities by establishing strong relationships with clients.
- Contribute to the team's knowledge base by engaging with internal competence networks and leveraging expertise from senior colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills: Required:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in power system studies, Grid/Industrial connection studies, or related areas.
- Proficiency in power systems modelling tools such as DIgSilent, PSS/E, Power Factory, ETAP and PSCAD; familiarity with Python scripting for automation is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think through technical challenges in detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well under deadlines and adapt to changing project demands.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in power systems modelling with a utility background, specifically in power systems planning or operations.
- Stakeholder negotiation experience to facilitate successful project completions.
- Research publications in reputable Electrical Engineering journals or conferences.
What We Offer:
- Global Reach: Work on impactful renewable projects with a global leader in energy consultancy, collaborating with teams in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific.
- Professional Growth: Be part of a team with decades of expertise in power and energy systems, where you'll have opportunities to build on your skills and work on cutting-edge technical challenges.
- Flexibility & Support: We offer flexibility for remote work arrangements and a supportive environment to achieve work-life balance.
- Career Development: Join a forward-thinking company with a track record of pioneering success in grid connection projects, where you can make a meaningful contribution to the renewable energy transition.
