Job Overview:
The Senior Engineer – Solar Rooftop Project Sales will play a pivotal role in accelerating business growth within the Solar EPC segment by driving technical sales, client engagement, and strategic business development. This role demands a unique combination of technical proficiency in rooftop PV systems, strong client-facing sales acumen, and robust commercial expertise. The individual will deliver customised energy solutions to commercial, industrial, and institutional clients, while ensuring seamless collaboration between customers and internal teams to generate competitive proposals and achieve successful project closures.
The candidate will report directly to the
AGM – Sales (Renewables).
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure opportunities across C&I, institutional and residential sectors (as applicable).
- Manage the complete sales cycle – from lead generation, prospect qualification, and solution design to proposal submission, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Engage with engineering teams to conduct feasibility studies, yield simulations, and system performance assessments, translating findings into client-specific solutions.
- Develop and deliver techno-commercial proposals, financial models, and persuasive presentations tailored to client needs.
- Liaise with design, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure alignment between sales commitments and project execution.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for specifications, pricing, and product selection.
- Continuously monitor market dynamics, policy developments, and emerging technologies in the solar and renewable energy sector. Conduct competitor benchmarking to define differentiation strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships while ensuring a healthy sales pipeline and diligent CRM management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable Energy Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree or MBA will be considered an advantage.
- 3–5 years of demonstrable experience in Rooftop Solar/EPC sales.
- Proven track record in C&I and institutional project sales; exposure to energy storage (BESS) and hybrid projects will be an added benefit.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal abilities, with strong analytical and research skills.
- Resilient and adaptable to a dynamic work environment with a willingness to travel across designated regions.
- In-depth understanding of solar technologies, market trends, policies, and regulatory frameworks, combined with competitor analysis expertise.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with sound knowledge of advanced sales strategies and techniques.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM platforms and lead generation platforms. Familiarity with PV simulation tools and AutoCAD is desirable.
- Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; additional communication skills in Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil will be advantageous.
