Deputy Manager - Projects

Responsibilities

Site Execution Support and Monitoring:

Assist in supervising daily construction activities to confirm alignment with approved technical drawings, specifications, and schedules & record minor deviations in task execution and escalate critical issues for review by senior engineers.

Document daily progress updates, including completed tasks, resource usage, and equipment deployment & track on-site activities to identify minor inefficiencies and recommend adjustments for improved execution efficiency.

Quality Inspections and Documentation:

Conduct quality checks on construction materials, methods, and finishes to validate compliance with approved project specifications & record non-conformities and coordinate minor rectifications to align with quality benchmarks.

Maintain inspection records, quality checklists, and reports for site activities & assist in preparing technical summaries of identified quality issues and their resolution during the execution phase.

Material Handling and Inventory Updates:

Track the receipt, storage, and usage of construction materials to ensure compliance with BOQ specifications & update material logs regularly to reflect real-time inventory status and consumption data.

Assist in identifying shortages, overconsumption, or misalignments in material usage during execution & submit detailed inventory summaries to senior engineers for procurement adjustments and optimization.

Survey and Measurement Support:

Perform site surveys and measure construction activities, including structural layouts, surface alignments, and finishing dimensions & verify measurements with design specifications to ensure execution accuracy.

Document survey results and assist in updating layout plans to reflect site-specific adjustments & highlight minor discrepancies for technical resolution by senior team members.

Daily Reporting and Task Tracking:

Prepare daily execution reports summarizing completed work, pending activities, and material usage & track minor delays or inefficiencies and compile technical observations for review during project meetings.

Maintain site execution logs to document resource utilization, task status, and identified issues & assist in generating weekly progress updates for senior management to monitor execution timelines.

Safety Compliance Support:

Monitor compliance with basic safety guidelines and protocols during on-site activities & report safety hazards, unsafe practices, or potential risks for resolution by site managers.

Assist in maintaining safety records, including work permits and inspection reports & support senior engineers in implementing corrective actions to address safety deviations on-site.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized institution is required.

Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD and MS Excel is essential for assisting with site layout verification and progress documentation.

Certifications in safety standards, quality assurance, or construction methodologies are preferred.

Work Experience:

5 years of experience in supporting site execution activities, including tracking construction progress, verifying material usage, and assisting in quality inspections.

Exposure to interior fit-out projects or infrastructure works is desirable.

Hands-on experience in site measurements, maintaining daily progress logs, and identifying minor deviations from design drawings.
