Job Description: Project Manager – Mechanical (Door Locks Industry)

Position: Project Manager

Department: Mechanical / R&D / Production

Industry: Door Locks & Hardware Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end projects related to mechanical door lock products—from concept, design, prototyping, testing to final production.
  • Coordinate with design, R&D, quality, production, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, timelines, and cost estimates; ensure projects are completed within budget and deadlines.
  • Monitor project progress and handle any technical or operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, product specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Manage supplier communication for components, materials, and tooling development.
  • Conduct risk assessment and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Lead prototype development, testing and validation processes.
  • Prepare project reports, documentation, and performance reviews for management.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and product quality enhancement.
  • Collaborate with sales/marketing teams for new product development based on market demand.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2–4 years of experience in project management, preferably in door locks, hardware, or precision mechanical components.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, machining, casting, sheet metal, and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of lock mechanisms, security products, or hardware fittings is preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
