Job Title:
Milling Operator

Purpose of the Position:
To operate CNC milling machines and perform various tasks to produce high-quality parts according to specifications, contributing to the efficiency of the production process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine machine setup and production methods.
  • Inspect parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Record production data and report any issues to the supervisor.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with CNC milling machine operation.
  • Basic understanding of machining principles and practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining preferred.
  • Previous experience as a milling operator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in working with Siemens controllers for CNC milling machines.
  • Familiarity with Harco controllers commonly used in milling operations.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and potential hazards associated with machinery operation.
  • May require standing for extended periods and handling of heavy materials.

Performance Expectations:

  • Produce parts that meet all quality standards in a timely manner.
  • Minimize machine downtime through effective operation and maintenance.

Reporting Structure:
The Milling Operator will report to the Milling Supervisor or Production Manager.
