Role Summary :

Service Engineer provides post-sales technical support, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots medical devices in the field to ensure uptime, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install, calibrate, commission, and validate medical devices at client sites
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and corrective maintenance
  • Diagnose hardware / software faults and recommend improvements or fixes
  • Provide on-site support for service calls, emergencies, and breakdowns
  • Maintain documentation for service call reports, spares usage, preventive maintenance logs
  • Train customer staff on operation, safety, and maintenance
  • Coordinate with spare parts, logistics, and technical R&D for upgrades or spare replacement
  • Suggest design modifications or enhancements based on field feedback

Qualifications / Requirements :

  • Diploma / Bachelors in Electronics / Biomedical Engineering / Mechanical or relevant field
  • 2-5 years experience in service / maintenance of medical / electro-medical devices
  • Strong troubleshooting, hardware, software, and mechanical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to customers

  • Service call response time
  • Mean time to repair / mean time between failures
  • Customer satisfaction for service
  • Uptime / availability of devices
  • Spare parts utilization and cost control

Reporting & Stakeholders :

  • Reports to Service Manager / Technical Head
  • Stakeholders: operations, quality, parts, product team
