Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain applications using AS400 technologies including RPG/RPGLE and ILE.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Perform job scheduling and performance tuning to optimize application efficiency.
  • Utilize DB2/400 and SQL for database management and queries.
  • Implement service programs and modules as per project requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.

Skills Required:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AS400/iSeries platform, including development and support.
  • Proficient in RPG, RPGLE, ILE, CLLE, and DDS for developing and maintaining AS400-based applications.
  • Good understanding of modular programming using service programs, modules, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in SQLRPGLE and DB2/400 for writing and optimizing complex queries and managing relational databases.
  • Experience in job scheduling, batch processing, and performance optimization on the AS400 system.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and error-handling techniques on the iSeries platform.
  • Ability to work on enhancements, production support, and migration projects independently or in a team.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
