- SAP IS-U ABAP Billing Role Overview:The SAP IS-U ABAP Development Consultant Billing is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technical solutions within the SAP IS-U Billing module. This role involves working closely with business and functional teams to ensure the accurate and efficient operation of billing processes for utility companies, with a focus on customizing ABAP solutions to meet client-specific needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop custom ABAP solutions within the SAP IS-U Billing module, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices. Design and implement billing-related RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) objects. Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement custom billing solutions. Support the complete lifecycle of SAP IS-U billing implementations, from blueprinting to go-live and post-go-live support, including 2-3 full life cycle implementations. Ensure seamless integration between the billing module and other SAP IS-U modules such as Device Management, Energy Data Management, and invoicing. Optimize ABAP code to improve performance and ensure compliance with SAP best practices, especially in handling large datasets typical of billing environments. Develop, test, and deploy enhancements for billing processes such as rate determination, invoicing, and bill printing. Implement batch job processing for billing cycles, including the handling of mass billing, exception management, and reconciliations. Provide technical support for issue resolution during integrated and parallel testing phases. Maintain technical documentation including technical specifications, test scripts, and operational procedures. Requirements: 5-7 years of experience in ABAP development, with a strong focus on SAP IS-U Billing. Proven expertise in the technical aspects of SAP IS-U Billing, including billing schema, rate configuration, invoicing, and revenue management processes. Experience with SAP S/4HANA and its integration with IS-U preferred. Familiarity with billing-related technical master data and integration with financial accounting (FI-CA). Knowledge of complex billing processes, such as time-of-use billing, interval billing, and bill correction workflows. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in SAP IS-U billing, particularly related to ABAP enhancements, billing runs, and mass processing. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in team settings. SAP IS-U/ABAP certification is preferred. Experience working in Agile and Waterfall project environments.
